2024 Summer Music in the Park Free Concert Series in Simi Valley in June, July, August

Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District presents the 2024 Music in the Park free concert series at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Avenue, Simi Valley. Concerts begin at 6:30pm. Lineup is as follows:

Saturday, June 15: The Garth Guy (Garth Brooks Tribute)

Saturday, July 20: Fooz Fighters (Foo Fighters Tribute)

Saturday, August 17: Queen Nation (Queen Tribute)

33rd Annual Ventura County Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration in Oxnard on Saturday, June 15, 2024

Ventura County’s 33rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration is planned for Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10am to 5pm at Plaza Park, 500 South C Street in Oxnard. Free event commemorates Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day or Freedom Day, marking the June 19, 1865 announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. Event to feature live music, local artists, great food and more. 2024 Fireworks Spectacular in Westlake Village on Thursday, July 4th

The annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular hosted by the City of Westlake Village is planned for Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Fireworks will be launched from the Westlake Village Golf Course at approximately 9:10pm.

Gates open at 5pm. No outside alcohol allowed - beer and wine will be available for purchase. Event to also include inflatable jumpers for the kids, putting contest, live music, various food trucks and more.

Offiste parking available at Townsgate and Lakeview Canyon Roads.

2024 Independence Day Fireworks Display in Santa Barbara on Thursday, July 4th

The City of Santa Barbara is hosting its annual Independence Day fireworks display beginning at 9pm on Thursday, July 4, 2024 off West Beach.

From noon to 8:50pm there will be live music at the West Beach bandstand. Free face painting 2pm on Stearns Wharf.

Radio simulcast on 92.9 KjEE or watch a livestream of the fireworks show at KEYT.com. The show is about 20 minutes long.

2024 Oxnard Insect Festival at Plaza Park on Saturday, June 1st

The City of Oxnard Recreation and Community Services Division hosts its 4th Annual Oxnard Insect Festival at Plaza Park, 500 S. C Street on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Experience the world of insects through educational exhibits and enriching experiences. There will also be insects to touch, insects to taste, photo opps, bounce houses, live music and more. 2024 Ventura 4th of July Street Fair and Children's Pushem-Pullem Parade

The City of Ventura 4th of July Street Fair will be back on Thursday, July 4, 2024 along Main Street from Fir Street to Ventura Avenue as well as side streets Chestnut, Oak and California.

The street fair features over 100 arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, food trucks, a car exhibit, and family-friendly activities. Open 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event is free to the public.

The 47th Annual Children’s Pushem - Pullem Parade is at 10 a.m.  Assemble at Cemetery Park at Main and Crimea Streets at 9:30 a.m.  The parade proceeds down Main Street to Fir Street at 10 a.m.

Star Spangled Rock & Country Jam & Fireworks Extravaganza in Simi Valley on Thursday, July 4th

The Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley presents the Star-Spangled Rock & Country Jam and Fireworks Celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, 5005 E. Los Angeles Avenue. Gates open at 3pm. There will be live music, food and craft vendors, silent auction, beer and wine, a free kids’ zone (courtesy of Adventist Health Simi Valley) and, of course, fireworks at 9 pm (simulcast to music on 99.1 The Ranch).

  • 7PM: Forever Rod (Rod Stewart tribute)

The Moorpark Field of Valor is a patriotic tribute honoring all Veterans and Active Duty Military personnel for their dedication and service to our nation, preserving our security, our independence, and our freedom. Flags will be proudly be displayed, each dedicated in honor of a friend or family member.

The proceeds from the Moorpark Morning Rotary’s Field of Valor event will go to various non-profit organizations that provide direct support to local veterans and the families of our deployed military.

A company or individual can sponsor or purchase flag(s) (3ft x 4ft) honoring a deceased veteran friend or family member.

The Moorpark Field of Valor event on Memorial Day will include color guards, bagpipes and a moving tribute to our community’s latest fallen hero. Throughout the event various guest speakers, concerts and singers will provide an exciting and magnificent tribute to our deceased veterans.

2024 Point Mugu Surf Contest at Naval Base Ventura County (Open to the Public)

Naval Base Ventura County opens to the public on Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26 from 7am to 5pm for the 2024 Point Mugu Surf Contest. Free admission. Enter at the Las Posas Gate - gates open at 6:30am. Free parking - carpool if possible.

There will be over 100 surfers (registration is sold out), live music, vendors, contests and food trucks. Vendors are cash only.

Prohibited items include weapons, alcoholic beverages (unless purchased from vendor at the event), marijuana, pets (excluding service animals), glass containers, ice chests and coolers and drones.

Permitted items include cell phones, fanny packs, purses, small bags (clear is preferred), cameras, folding chairs, towels, blankets and surfboards.

2024 Heritage Square Summer Concert Series on Friday Nights, June 14 to August 16

Oxnard's Heritage Square Summer Concert Series returns in 2024 for another 10 week run, from June 14th to August 16th. Concerts start at 6pm and end at 8:30pm, with a half hour break at 7pm.

The concerts offer entertainment to suit every musical preference - styles range from Reggae to Big Band and from Latin Jazz to Rock.

Concert tables can be reserved in advance for a fee. Individual tickets will be available day of show starting at 5pm for $10. Unreserved spots on the lawn available free of charge (donations appreciated). More details at www.heritagesquareoxnard.com/concerts.html.
