Ventura County Star Reports Conejo Valley's First Drive-Thru Starbucks Approved

Update 3/21/13: The Thousand Oaks Drive-Thru Starbucks on Thousand Oaks Boulevard at Rancho Road opened today at 1:30pm! Woo hoo! Their phone number is 805.379.1750.

Update 1/13/13: The new Thousand Oaks Drive-Thru Starbucks at the corner of Thousand Oaks Blvd and Rancho Road is coming right along. The structure is built and they continue working away on it. The photo below doesn't quite do it justice but hey, I was multitasking while maneuvering a left hand turn onto T.O. Blvd. :> No word on specific opening date but certainly looks like it isn't far away.

In the meantime, a new Newbury Park Drive-Thru Starbucks that will be opening in the next week is generating plenty of excitement among locals.

Original post 6/30/12: On Tuesday, the Ventura County Star reported that the City of Thousand Oaks Planning Commission approved a drive-thru Starbucks to be located at 1195 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., in what used to be a gas station at the corner of Rancho Road and Thousand Oaks Blvd. The location will have no indoor seating but in addition to the drive-thru there will be a walk-up window and courtyard.

This will be the first drive-thru Starbucks in the Conejo Valley and the 3rd in Ventura County. The others are located at1611 E Channel Islands Blvd, Oxnard and 1197 E Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley.

I'm a drip coffee with cream and sugar kind of guy. If I drive up and hear the person in front of me ordering "half caf non fat mocha javachino machiatto with extra caramel, extra vanilla, cream on the side, no ice, ice in a cup, whip cream on the side, just a serving size, skim milk to go, and a sprinkle of cinnamon" I may have to ram into them. (haha)
