AYSO Region 68 - Camarillo, Santa Rosa, Somis

American Youth Soccer Organization Region 68 serves players in Camarillo, Santa Rosa Valley and Somis.  The region has over 300 teams and 2500 players ages 5 to 18 in fall and spring leagues. Currently all Region 68 games are played at Freedom Park right next to the Camarillo Airport on Pleasant Valley Road.

Oak Canyon Community Park in Oak Park

Oak Canyon Community Park is located at 5600 Hollytree Drive in Oak Park at Kanan. This is a nicely appointed park with a children's splash pad, playgrounds, lagoon/pond with ducks, dog park and plenty of open space.

101 Jaguars Youth Football and Cheer

The 101 Jaguars Youth Football and Cheer and its predecessor organizations have served the families of players and cheerleaders in the greater Conejo Valley and 101 corridor since 2011.

Registration for football and cheer takes place in the spring each year. Divisions are as follows:

  • Mighty Mite: Ages 6 to 8

  • Bantam: Ages 8 to 10

  • Freshman: Ages 9 to 11

  • Sophomore: Ages 10 to 12

  • Junior: Ages 11 to 13

  • Senior: Ages 12 to 14

Cheer participation is for girls ages 6 to 14, focusing on cheers and dances performed on the sideline and midfield at halftime during 101 Jaguars football games.

The 101 Jaguars is a member of the Gold Coast Youth Football League. The 101 Jaguars practice and play at Crespi High School. More information at www.101jaguars.org.

Ojai Youth Entertainers Studio

Ojai Youth Entertainers Studio is a non-profit organization dedicated to challenge, inspire, educate and entertain children and families in the Ojai Valley through the experience of quality theatre, dance and music. Classes, camps, live performances and more are offered to all ages.

Kids' Adventure Garden in Thousand Oaks

The Kids' Adventure Garden (KAG) at the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden is open every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The KAG is a fun place for children to learn about nature and gardening.  The garden features a tree house, pirate's cave, zoo garden, hydroponic pod and much more. Free admission (though donations are welcome). Enter at W. Gainsborough Road at Jeaunine Drive. between Lynn Road and Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.

Kids love running around the KAG and exploring the nearby trails and stream.  Additionally, Conejo Community Park is next to the garden, with a nice playground area, expansive grass and picnic areas.

Lazertag Axtreme in Simi Valley

Lazertag Axtreme at 591-A Country Club Drive, Simi Valley in the Wood Ranch Shopping Center opened in July 2013. This facility has a customized 5,000+ sq ft three-level interactive arena, axe throwing, arcade with ticket redemption games and a cafe.  No reservations required to play but for groups of 8 or more are recommended.

Axe throwing was added to the mix in June 2019, when the name of the place was changed from Lazertag Extreme to Lazertag Axtreme. I see what they did there.

Newbury Park Track Club and Other Ventura County Youth Track Clubs

The Newbury Park Track Club (NPTC) is a youth recreational sports program in track and field. Founded in 1968, the NPTC is the oldest continuously running youth sports organization in the Conejo Valley.

Registration takes place in December/January (for spring track season) and early summer (for fall cross country season) each year. Age groups range from 7 to 16 years. Teams are as follows:

  • Gremlins: Ages 7-8

  • Bantams: Ages 9-10

  • Midgets: Ages 11-12

  • Youth: Ages 13-14

  • Intermediate: Ages 15-16

Each team is coached by at least one coach, with additional support from parents and specialty coaches as needed.  Athletes compete fairly and equally.  All athletes are eligible to compete an equal amount, and all have an equal chance to earn first place awards.

NPTC is a member of the Ventura County Youth Track Conference, a non-profit, tax-exempt California corporation.
