UPDATE 6/6/23: Pizza Twist Newbury Park is now open.
Yet another new local eatery coming in the new year. Pizza Twist will be located in the Conejo Gateway Plaza at 711 Wendy Drive in Newbury Park. Pizza Twist makes pizzas that you’ve probably never tasted before, with fresh cut vegetables, dough that’s made daily and fresh ingredients. Vegan Thyme, the popular vegan/vegetarian eatery in the Park Plaza Shopping Center at 2205 Michael Drive in Newbury Park that opened in March 2019, will be moving to a larger location in the center - the former Roma Deli, sometime in 2023. Congratulations to Vegan Thyme for their continued success!
Mirchi Indian Cuisine "comming" soon according to this sign at the Smart & Final Extra Plaza in Newbury Park. It will be located in the former Radio Shack. Looking forward to an electrifying meal there.
Sheesh, no one told us that Peebee & Jay’s in Newbury Park, which opened its doors in the middle of the pandemic in August 2020, recently closed its doors. I’m told sometime this summer.
That said, the NP location has not been removed as of yet from the Peebee & Jay’s website at www.peebeeandjaysonline.com. Still hungry for one of their delicious sandwiches? Their Carpinteria and Port Hueneme locations are still open.
UPDATE: Crumbl Cookies Newbury Park opened on May 12th.
Learned tonight thanks to a heads up from Mackenzie P via Instagram that another Crumbl Cookies is coming soon to the Conejo Valley. This one will be located at The Village at Newbury Park, 935 Broadbeck Drive, Unit B, in the former AT&T store in between Chipotle and Islands. The Westlake Village location opened a month ago at The Shoppes at Westlake Village. Another location at the Oxnard Esplanade opened July 1st

Selvin's Restaurant + Lounge is the name of the new restaurant coming in early 2023 to the Palm Garden Hotel in Newbury Park. California cuisine is what I’ve heard will be their focus. Otherwise, check for updates at www.selvins.com.
Newbury Park High School has been replaced....temporarily, that is, with Waymont High School, Home of the Warriors (wait a second...isn't that the Westlake High School mascot!?). Filming is going on at the school for a high school comedy movie called "Incoming."
From Variety: “Incoming” follows four incoming freshmen as they navigate the terrors of adolescence at their first-ever high school party. The cast also includes “The Black Phone” actor Mason Thames, Bobby Cannavale and fellow “Mick” alum Kaitlin Olson. Directors are Dave and John Chernin, known for the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," in their feature filmmaking debut.

UPDATE 10/29/22: Sign is up indicating the name of the new eatery will be Mirchi Indian Cuisine. “Comming Soon” according to the sign.
6/16/22: Denise B noticed some activity brewing in the old Radio Shack in the Smart & Final Center in Newbury Park last occupied in January 2017. She used her investigative skills to snap a photo of some of the construction plans, which would indicate Indian eatery Lal Mirch appears to be building it out. Stay tuned for updates.
