Join in the campaign to support more birthdays at the 2021 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K fundraiser and pancake breakfast for Ventura County.  Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of survivorship an occasion to express hope and our shared determination to make this breast cancer's last century.

CANCELLED 2020 Tower 2 Tower Stair Climb Fundraiser in Oxnard on Saturday, June 6th

The Tower 2 Tower Stair Climb Hosted By Oxnard Fire Explorer Post 9244 is planned for Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Topa Financial Plaza Towers, 300 East Esplanade Drive, Oxnard. Check in starts at 9 am. Start by running up then back down the stairs in the 14-story City National Bank tower. Head out and cross the parking lot through a series of obstacles (obstacles are optional). This course will lead you to the larger Morgan Stanley tower. Enter the north stairs then race up 22 flights. Water will be available every seven floors and on the rooftop. Exit to the roof, cross the finish line, then take a moment to enjoy the spectacular view and to revel in your run.

50 floors, 1,089 stairs, 500 feet!

Post race, join your family and friends at Public Safety Day. Demos will be ongoing from Fire and Police Departments, K9s and other public safety teams from the county.  Enjoy music and food with the entire family. Food trucks on hand until 3pm.

The 8th Annual Walk to End Genocide and Experiential Fair is Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Temple Etz Chaim/United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks, 1080 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Event includes 5K walk and rally, arts and crafts for the kids and more.

The Walk to End Genocide raises awareness and funds to provide vital resources for those suffering from the horrors of genocide. With your help, we will raise thousands of dollars to help realize a better future for people around the world suffering human rights abuses. Anyone and everyone can help! Join or start a walk team, walk as an individual, make a donation, volunteer or become a sponsor! There is no fitness requirement for this family-friendly walk, so everyone can participate.

POSTPONED Red Cross Ventura County Operation Ride for the Red on May 16, 2020

The American Red Cross of Ventura County announces the kickoff of its 4th annual Operation: Ride for the Red cycling event on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

There will be three rides going through Ventura County, a century (100 miles), a metric century (60 miles) and a half metric century (30 miles). Each registered rider will receive a rider bag with several free items.

Event participants are also encouraged to reach out to friends, family and supporters to help raise additional funds for the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) program.

The Red Cross is able to help local military families thanks to the generosity of donors who support the SAF program.

Operation: Ride for the Red was created by passionate, local volunteers eager to share the story and history of the Red Cross SAF program. Since 9/11, the Red Cross has served more than one million military families, and it is the only military service organization that supports military families from the day they enlist through their time as a veteran.

California Wildlife Center (CWC), a nonprofit organization, has cared for more than 32,000 native animals since its founding in 1998. It is run by a dedicated small staff and trained volunteers who believe that our wild neighbors deserve a second chance at life. As a result, sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife receive quality medical care and rehabilitation in a quiet area of the Santa Monica Mountains with the intent of releasing them back into the wild. Our goal for this event is to raise $200,000 to fund the free services and programs CWC provides, including paramedic rescue and rehabilitation and coexisting with wildlife education to Southern California residents.
