Paradise Bowls Coming This Fall to The Promenade at Westlake in Thousand Oaks

Paradise Bowls is coming in the fall of 2025 to the spot formerly occupied by Sprinkles Cupcakes Westlake Village. Paradise Bowls offers acai and pitaya blended bowls with other fruits, non-dairy milks or juices, topped with fresh fruits, granola, and other goodies. Prior to Sprinkles, this spot was a Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, closing in late summer 2014.

Sprinkles Cupcakes at The Promenade at Westlake in Thousand Oaks Has Closed Its Doors

Sprinkles Cupcakes at The Promenade at Westlake has seemingly vaporized overnight. Folks indicate seeing it open this past weekend. Today, there’s no so sign of Sprinkles on the building on The Promenade website and on the Sprinkles website. Sprinkles originally opened at The Promenade on October 30, 2013 in the spot next to Barnes & Noble. In December 2014, it relocated to the larger location and expanded its menu to include ice cream. Before Sprinkles, this spot was occupied by Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt.

There’s a sign out front showing that Paradise Bowls is coming to this spot in the fall of 2025. Jinky's Cafe Thousand Oaks Closed; Cafe ViVi Now Open

Jinky’s Cafe in the Oakbrook Plaza at 1724-A E. Avenida De Los Arboles in Thousand Oaks is now Cafe ViVi. Same staff and ownership with a new menu.

Jinky’s opened this location on December 26, 2012. Before that, it was occupied by Kohinoor Cuisine of India. Before that, it was the Oakbrook B-B-Q & Grill and Seafood Parlor & Barton’s Dining.

Eureka Brewing Company Tasting Room in Thousand Oaks Has Closed Its Doors

The Eureka Brewing Company tasting room at Janss Marketplace has closed its doors. Eureka opened this tasting room in June 2022 in the space formerly occupied by The Dudes’ Brewing Co. from July 2016 to March 2020.

Downtown Thousand Oaks Project Community Conversation Series in January/February

The City of Thousand Oaks is embarking on an exciting initiative to create a vibrant and thriving downtown area. To ensure this vision reflects the community’s needs and desires, a series of five Community Conversations will be held both in person and virtually. Residents, business owners, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate and share their ideas. These interactive sessions will provide a platform for open dialogue and collaboration, focusing on key aspects of downtown placemaking, including:

  • Visioning: What kind of downtown does the community want to see?

  • Amenities & Attractions: What types of businesses, services, and public spaces are needed?

  • Connectivity & Accessibility: How can we ensure easy access and movement within the downtown area?

  • Economic Development: How can we attract businesses and create jobs in the downtown core?

  • Community Identity: How can the downtown reflect the unique character and culture of Thousand Oaks?

“A successful downtown is built by the community, for the community,” said Mayor David Newman. “These community conversations are crucial for gathering diverse perspectives and creating a shared vision for the future of our downtown. We encourage everyone to participate and help us shape this important project.”

Event Details:

The Community Conversations will be held on the following dates. Sessions one, two, and three are in-person, and sessions four and five are virtual:

  • Session 1- Arts and Entertainment: Wednesday, January 15, 6 pm at Kavli Theatre Founder’s Room

  • Session 2- Landscape Architecture and Oak Tree Preservation: Wednesday, January 22, 6 pm at Civic Arts Plaza Oak and Park Rooms

  • Session 3- Visitor Experience and Business Mix: Wednesday, January 29, 4 pm at Civic Arts Plaza Oak and Park Rooms

  • Session 4- Sustainability: Wednesday, February 5, via Zoom

  • Session 5- Accessibility and Disabled Access: Wednesday, February 12, via Zoom

The five sessions will culminate in a Community Workshop on Wednesday, February 19, at 6 pm at Civic Arts Plaza Oak and Park Rooms. The design team will share feedback received during the five sessions and how the findings may influence the overall Downtown program.

Neighborly Curated Food Hall Opening December 20th at The Promenade at Westlake in Thousand Oaks

Creole Kings Now Open at The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks

Creole Kings opened last week at The Oaks shopping mall food court, located between Sarku Japan and Sbarro. Creole Kings offers Po Boy Sandwiches, entrees and baskets loaded with either cauliflower, chicken, okra, catfish, or shrimp, as well as chicken and waffles, bourbon loaded fries and more.
