Barone's Pizza Thousand Oaks To Close Its Doors on May 28th

Barone's Pizza announced today in an email that it will be closing its doors in Thousand Oaks at close of business on Tuesday, May 28th. Barone's first came to the Conejo Valley in April 2015 at 30990 Russell Ranch Road in Westlake Village, then opened a 2nd location in the Northstar Plaza at 1321 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. In February 2020, Barone's consolidated into the Thousand Oaks location. Sad to report that OR Authentic Thai Cuisine at The Oaks mall has closed its doors. OR opened there in November 2019 in the space previously occupied by Deliteful Low Carb Restaurant (May 2016 to July 2017) and before that, Johnny Rockets. OR previously operated as White Elephant Thai Cuisine on Moorpark Road.

Karma Baker in Oak Park Announces They Will Be Closing on March 30th

Karma Baker announced this morning on its Instagram page that its last day of business will be March 30th. “The decision has not been easy for us. Despite our best efforts to avoid closure, circumstances beyond our control have led us to this point.”

Karma Baker originally opened in the Pavilions Plaza at the southwest corner of Lindero and Kanan in Oak Park in October 2014.

Cuckoo Rooster in Agoura Hills is Closed

Sign on the door of Cuckoo Rooster in the Twin Oaks Shopping Center at 5653 Kanan Road in Agoura Hills says "We are Closed," which would appear to mean this eatery has permanently closed its doors. Since February 2019, Cuckoo Rooster served hot fried chicken, crispy chicken sandwiches and related items.

Mama's Hummus to Close Newbury Park Location on February 28; Camarillo Still Open

The owners of Mama’s Hummus have announced that they will be closing their original Newbury Park location in the Conejo Gateway Plaza (779 N. Wendy Drive) on Wednesday, February 28th. This location has served the Conejo Valley since February 20, 2014.

The good news is that the Camarillo location, which opened on August 9, 2015, is still in business and owners Naji and Suzanne would love to see you stop by. Located just five miles away, down the Conejo Grade, at 5021 Verdugo Way, near Camarillo High School. If you’re looking for delicious, homemade kabobs, shawarma, hummus and other Mediterranean specialties, Mama’s Hummus is worth going out of your way for.

Amy's Drive Thru Thousand Oaks Has Closed Its Doors

Today, Amy’s Drive Thru announced that it has closed its locations in Roseville and in Thousand Oaks. They indicated their disappointment, but that sometimes new locations don’t pan out as hoped in their announcement.

They opened their doors at the Best Buy Center at 400 N. Moorpark Road in a completely new and beautiful build-out on June 15, 2023. They were open for 238 days. Sorry to see them go.

Stella's Gourmet Restaurant in Newbury Park Appears to be Closed - New Italian Restaurant Coming

A month ago there was a sign up indicating Stella’s Gourmet Restaurant at 2385 Michael Drive in Newbury Park was undergoing renovations. Today, that sign is gone, and the Stella’s sign has been taken down.

Stella’s opened its doors in 1981. The beloved original owner, Stella Scholle, passed away in November 2013. The eatery changed ownership several times since then.
