Sad to report that Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express in the Whole Foods Plaza in Thousand Oaks has closed its doors. It originally opened in June 2018. Fatburger at the Camarillo Premium Outlets also recently closed its doors, which means there are currently no Fatburgers in Ventura County. www.fatburger.com
Ma Dukes by L.A. Roots Catering at 30651 Thousand Oaks Blvd (at Lake Lindero Dr) in Agoura Hills will be serving its final artisan pizza this Sunday, September 22nd, but for very good reasons - the owner of L.A. Roots, Isaiah Seay, is expanding and relocating L.A. Roots Catering. To learn more, visit www.larootscatering.com. Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery at 1345 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard has closed its doors, but its owners have announced it is undergoing a remodeling and will be reopening as Oaks Local Craft Kitchen & Bar.
Oaks Local will serve American style food with a menu that includes shareable starters, Angus beef tri tip and burgers, fresh salmon, California fire-grilled chicken, artisan breads and pizzas, salads, soups and more. Stay tuned for updates regarding timing.

Sad to report that Lamppost Pizza Westlake Village (Kanan and Lindero) has closed its doors after serving the community for over 33 years. I spoke with the owner, Judy Hodgson, who will miss it but is excited to be taking a much needed break. The Newbury Park location closed on December 4, 2011.

Johnny Rockets at the Camarillo Premium Outlets recently closed its doors. This was the last remaining Johnny Rockets location in Ventura County and the Conejo Valley. The Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks locations closed in 2012 and Calabasas closed in 2017. Universal City is the closest location for those in search of this brand. www.johnnyrockets.com
Black Bear Diner Simi Valley at 2022 1st Street closed its doors on August 7th. It opened on May 28, 2019. Black Bear Ventura at 2401 E. Harbor Blvd is still open. blackbeardiner.com
The Pho & Tea eatery in the food court area at The Oaks mall has closed its doors. Pho & Tea opened its doors in December 2017 in the space previously occupied by Tacone Wraps (which I have delicious memories of).
Pho & Tea indicated via its Facebook page that it is relocating and will be reopening for to go and delivery for online orders via Doordash/Uber Eats on Monday, July 15th.
Hearn from Facebook follower Stacey L tonight that MOD Pizza Newbury Park has closed its doors. This location at The Village at Newbury Park would have turned 10 years old on October 2nd.
