Inaugural Wild Oaks Country Music Festival in Thousand Oaks on Saturday, June 3rd

The first annual Wild Oaks Country Music Festival will take place Saturday, June 3 in Thousand Oaks and will feature some of Nashville’s favorite country artists.

Performers set to appear include country chart-topping Craig Morgan, Grammy-nominated CAM, and local favorites Justin Honsinger and Chris Johnson and the Hollywood Hillbillies (straight from the Cowboy Palace in Chatsworth).

The festival also features line dancing and lessons, a live DJ, food trucks, kids’ activities, Hot Summer Night People’s Choice Best Hot Sauce tastings and over 75 vendors and booths.

Event takes place from noon to 7 p.m. at Conejo Creek Park South, 1300 E. Janss Road.

Presented by the Rotary Club of Westlake Village, all net proceeds go to local nonprofit groups.

A limited number of VIP tickets that include shaded seating next to the stage, private restrooms and food and drink tickets are $225. Kids under 12 are free. Festival hours are noon to 7:00 p.m. Free onsite parking. To purchase tickets go to www.WildOakscmf.com.

SoCal Ride & Rally to Defeat ALS in Newbury Park on Saturday, May 6, 2023

The 7th annual SoCal Ride and Rally to Defeat ALS is a one-day community event designed to appeal to every level of cyclist, hiker, walker and supporter of The Golden West Chapter of The ALS Association. It's all happening on May 6 at Dos Vientos Community Park from 7:30am to 2pm. This fundraiser helps support members of the local community who are impacted by ALS Disease.

Cyclists can take the 40-mile or 25-mile route with a lovely rest stop at the Elks Lodge in Thousand Oaks. Hikers have a 6-mile outing on the Powerline Trail. A wheelchair-friendly Family Walk of .7 miles around the park will also be available. Registration fees start at $20 for the Family Walk, $35 for the hike and $55 for bike riders. Fees increase on April 1.

Coffee, bagels and fresh fruit are provided at the start of the activities. Upon crossing the finish line participants partake of a delicious lunch, live music, and refreshing beverages.

Walk 3to9 5th Annual Walk for Breast Cancer Research in Thousand Oaks on November 20, 2022

On November 20th, Walk 3to9 is asking our walkers, crewmembers, survivors and sponsors from around the country to join us in-person OR virtually as we walk, run, hike, or bike to help end breast cancer! As a participant you'll receive a Walk 3to9 bundle, which includes a limited-edition bandana, swag bag, custom walker bib, and social media toolkit to help you share your experience with the Walk 3to9 online community. Together we’re committed to reach our fundraising goal of $50,000 because even with all of the changes happening over the last two years, one thing is certain – Walk 3to9 is ready to join the fight and make a difference.

SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS FUND HOSTS “PICNIC FOR THE PARK,” SATURDAY, APRIL 30

Santa Monica Mountains Fund will host Picnic for the Park – the organization’s first in-person general fundraiser in three years, Saturday, April 30, 4:00 p.m., outdoors at the idyllic King Gillette Ranch property in the heart of the stunning Santa Monica Mountains. This celebration of our beautiful local mountains will feature live music, a picnic dinner, a short film screening, a live Q&A, and a silent auction.

At the event, guests will have the opportunity to meet with National Park Service Rangers and SAMO Fund staffers to learn more about conservation and restoration work in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, the largest urban national park in the country located on the doorstep of the Conejo Valley.

The evening will feature a live concert performance by soulful singer/songwriter Sophia Dion and her band, including USC Thornton School of Music artists Jack Severino, Matt Sukert and Noah Ehler. The Fund will also present a special screening of the new National Park Service film, “To Right a Wrong: Ballard Mountain.” Made with support from SAMO Fund, the film will give insight into the diverse history of this beautiful national park.

A fajita bar picnic dinner will be provided by Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill, along with a range of beverages, and a wide array of prizes will be offered at a silent auction.

“We’re so looking forward to meeting with people who enjoy recreating in our local national park and who value the conservation work that takes place here,” said Charlotte Parry, Executive Director. “Please come along and support our mountains, our home,” she added.

Run for Paramount Ranch 10K, 5K and 1K in Agoura Hills on Saturday, March 12th

Santa Monica Mountains Fund invites you to celebrate early spring outdoors on SATURDAY, MARCH 12 with a 10k/5k/1k run/walk in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. Choose your run distance and explore the scenic rolling hills & trails at historic Paramount Ranch, the largest urban national park in the country.

Check In: 7:15 a.m. Start times: 10k/5k 8:00 a.m., 1k fun run 9:30 a.m.

Participants receive finisher’s medal and post-race snacks. Chip timing by Mile 26 Running. (Please note that participants will not receive a T-shirt. As an environmental organization, we did not feel that this was necessary for this event).

Camarillo's founder, Adolfo Camarillo, brought the community together with festive events and supported youth. The non-profit Camarillo Fiesta Association presents a winter concert series to benefit Rancho Campana High School.

Three performances will be held in Rancho’s beautiful Performing Arts Center on the school grounds at 4235 Mar Vista Drive, Camarillo, located near Las Posas Road and Lewis Road.
