Beachfront Run Half Marathon, 10K, 5K & Kids Run in Ventura on Saturday, June 8, 2024

The Ventura Beachfront Run (1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K & Kids Fun Run) will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024 with a scenic course along the beautiful coastline.  The race will begin on the north side of the Ventura Pier, 668 Harbor Boulevard. 

The half marathon and 10K runs along the oceanfront promenade and extends along the Pacific Coast Highway creating a flat and scenic course.  The 5K runs out and back along the oceanfront promenade.  Half marathon starts at 7 am. 2024 Music Under the Stars at Olivas Adobe in Ventura, July 13 to August 31

The City of Ventura Cultural Affairs Division presents the popular Music Under the Stars series, Saturday nights beginning July 13 through August 31, 2024. Performances run from 7:30 to 9:30 pm outdoors at the historic Olivas Adobe, 4200 Olivas Park Drive, near Ventura Harbor. Concerts start at 7:30 pm & gates open at 6:30 pm for dining. Dine, dance & delight to great performances at Ventura’s most historic party site! Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy nine Saturday nights of summer magic “dancing with the stars” on a majestic wooden ballroom floor. 2024 Shoreline Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and 10K in Ventura on Sunday, July 14th

The 2024 Shoreline Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K and 10K are planned for Sunday, July 14th at the Emma Wood State Beach Group Campgrounds. Start at Emma Wood State Beach Group Campground head onto the bike path,  bike path leads you onto HWY-1 beachfront bike path.  All runners will stay on the bike path or shoulder (ocean side) of Highway 1 along the route.  turn around at the designated turnaround point at approx 6.55 mile mark and back towards the finish line the same way you came out. 

Marathon starts at 7am, half marathon starts at 7:15 a.m., 10K at 7:30 a.m. and 5K at 7:45 a.m.

2023 Ventura Harbor Village Outdoor Movie Nights in June, July and August

Mark your calendars for free Outdoor Movie Nights at Ventura Harbor Village on June 24th (Jaws), July 29th (Goonies) and August 26th (Moana). Movies start at sunset on the main lawn at Ventura Harbor Village, 1591 Spinnaker Drive in Ventura.

Arrive early for dessert and pre-show entertainment and to secure a spot on the grass.

Jaws costume contest on June 24th - dress as a shark or in 1970s era attire. Special guest Susan Jane Backlinie (aka Chrissie Watkins), the first shark victim from the original Jaws will be on hand to introduce the movie and answer audience questions.

As this year marks the significant distinction of celebrating 150 years, five groups have come together to honor our community, history and diversity. County of Ventura, Museum of Ventura County, Ventura County Community Foundation, Pacific Coast Business Times and Economic Development Collaborative present 150 days of celebration kicking off June 23 at Museum of Ventura County.

Ivor Davis: Up Close and Personal with Malcom McDowell at the Museum of Ventura County on Saturday, March 25th

Join us at the Museum of Ventura County on Saturday, March 25, 2023 @ 6:30PM—8PM for the next installment of Ivor Davis: Up Close & Personal. Returning, this time in-person, is legendary actor and raconteur extraordinaire Malcolm McDowell, winner of Ojai Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

McDowell’s impressive career puts him in the pantheon of the all-time great British-born actors from Laurence Olivier to Michael Caine to Anthony Hopkins. McDowell’s dazzling career has spanned more than 50 years, where he has starred in scores of movies, including Stanley Kubrick’s iconic “Clockwork Orange,” Lindsay Anderson’s “O Lucky Man!,” “Caligula,” “Bombshell,” “Time After Time,” and “The Artist.” His vast television credits include “Entourage,” the animated series “South Park” and “Mozart in the Jungle.”

MVC Members can attend in-person or tune-in on Zoom for free. Non-Members can purchase in-person tickets for $10 or $5 for Zoom tickets.

Olivas Adobe Holiday Candlelight Tours in Ventura on Sunday, December 11, 2022

The public is invited to experience what the holidays were like in late 19th century Ventura with a free Holiday Candlelight Tour of the City of Ventura’s historic Olivas Adobe, located at 4200 Olivas Park Drive – on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Tours take place from 5:30-7:30PM.

The Olivas Adobe Historical Interpreters, in historical costumes, will take you on a tour through the house, decorated in different holiday traditions, while performing historical skits.

This is the ONLY Halloween Bar Crawl in Downtown Ventura that benefits nonprofits and includes drinks!
