SoCal Museums announces the Museums Free-for-All day on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Over thirty museums—presenting art, cultural heritage, film, natural history, and science—will open their doors and offer free general admission.

Of particular interest to local audiences, the following Santa Barbara and Ventura County museums will be participating in Museums Free-for-All:

74th Annual Santa Paula Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 30, 2024

The 74th Annual Santa Paula Christmas Parade is planned for Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 6:30pm

Marching bands, toy soldiers, floats, automobiles, equestrians, community groups and Santa Claus will be part of the festivities.

Parade will be run rain or shine, eastbound on Main Street from Seventh St to Mill St.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration at Santa Paula Art Museum and Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery on November 2, 2024

Guests of all ages are invited to celebrate Día de los Muertos at the Santa Paula Art Museum and Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery on Saturday, November 2, 2024 (hours and activities vary by location). Admission is free. This free, family-friendly community celebration offers traditional arts and craft-making activities, mariachi music, Aztec and Folklórico dancers, face painting, altar installations, and more. Día de los Muertos attire is encouraged!

Visitors can begin at either location and proceed to the next. Pick up a Día de los Muertos passport at either site, collect a stamp at both locations, and return it to Santa Paula Cemetery to be entered into a free raffle prize drawing. Free parking is available at both the Santa Paula Art Museum and Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery. Please see the schedule of events below:

Families are invited to drop in the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Cole Creativity Center to make their own clay skulls, candles, calavera drawings, and nichos. Guests will also enjoy special Día de los Muertos art exhibitions by artists Haya Cuzick, John Talevich, and Alek Talevich.

In honor of Día de los Muertos, Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery will celebrate with a day of festivities for family and friends. Build an ofrenda on a loved one’s grave or contribute to a community altar. Activities will include Aztec and Folklórico dancers, Mariachi music, face painting, sugar skull decorating, crafts, vendors, and more. Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. with the blessing of graves to follow by Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.

Santa Paula Labor Day Parade, Monday, September 2, 2024

The Santa Paula Labor Day Parade will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024 at 10 AM on Main Street in Santa Paula.

The parade is sponsored by the Santa Paula Labor Day Parade Committee, the Rotary Club of Santa Paula and the City of Santa Paula.

Walking groups with banners, musical groups, floats, workers riding in work-related vehicles, equestrians, and all groups representing a Labor Day theme are invited to participate. The parade starts at 7th and Main Street and ends at the gazebo at Santa Barbara and Mill.

Santa Paula Theater Center Presents Ghostwalk 2024 on Weekends From October 11 to 27

Santa Paula Theater Center presents Ghostwalk 2024 on Fridays through Sundays over the weekends of October 11-13, 18-20 and 25-27. Spaces are limited!

GHOSTWALK is Ventura County's original Halloween street theater presentation, a production of the Santa Paula Theater Center, now in its 30th year! Each year GhostWalk is presented in a different historic Santa Paula location. Flashlight in hand, walkers will be led along a route where they hear ghosts tell their tales of how they met their untimely ends. Some of the stories are true and based on history, and others are made up. You decide which is which! Ghostwalk 2024’s theme is “The Spirits of the Old Sycamore Tree.”

This year’s location is the Santa Paula Train Depot. Tour schedules are every 15 minutes from 6:30-9pm on Fridays, 6:30-9pm on Saturdays and 6:30-8:30pm on Sundays. Each tour is limited to 30 people and is an hour long.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, with a special $12 price for adult tickets on the opening weekend only. Online ticket sales at GhostWalk.com.

City of Santa Paula 4th of July Drone Show on Thursday, July 4, 2024

The Rotary Club of Santa Paula Rotary is sponsoring this year’s first ever Fourth of July drone show in partnership with the City of Santa Paula. This innovative and environmentally conscious alternative will allow the community to celebrate this Fourth of July holiday with a spectacular visual experience with increased safety for both people and animals, since drones do not produce loud noises that can distress pets and wildlife. It will also reduce the risk of accidents and fire hazards providing a safer celebration for everyone.

The drone show, featuring 150 drones, promises to illuminate the sky with 12 to 15 minutes of stunning displays synchronized to music and will take place at Harding Park (1300 E. Harvard Blvd) between 9pm and 9:30pm on July 4th; however, spectators are welcome to start entering the fields around 5pm for an evening packed with family fun including lawn games, a jolly jump, a wagon train, delicious food trucks and unique vendors. 2022 Santa Paula Rotary Pumpkin Patch at Limoneira Ranch (2023 Event Has Been Cancelled)

The Santa Paula Rotary Pumpkin Patch at the Limoneira Ranch, 12471 Foothill Road, Santa Paula will be back every Saturday and Sunday this October 2022.

Admission to the pumpkin patch is $12 (2 and under free) and includes hay ride, hay maze, hay pyramid, live music and plenty of great photo opps. Additional activities are $5 and up. The Corn MAiZE is $12. Other activities include corn maize, pony rides, face painting, the "Pumpkin Chucker" and more. No reservations needed - you can buy tickets online or at the door.

Families can easily spend a full day at the patch enjoying music, delicious fall food favorites, and old-fashioned hay wagon rides through acres of pumpkins, squash and gourds. 

Hours are 10am to 5 pm on October 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 39-30.

3rd Annual Santa Paula Police Memorial 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 9th

The 3rd Annual Santa Paula Police Memorial 5K Run/Walk is planned for 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Santa Paula Train Depot, 963 E. Santa Barbara Street.

All net proceeds from the race will go to benefit the families of members of Santa Paula Police Department whose lives were lost in the line of duty.
